국민안심서비스 is a safety service app developed by 합천군청, specifically designed for the elderly, disabled, dementia patients, and individuals with severe illnesses who may be at risk. It also caters to single-person households, kindergarten students, and elementary, middle, and high school students. The app works by sending text messages or alerts (sound, vibration, etc.) to multiple registered guardians if the user does not use their phone for at least 12 hours. Its main purpose is to prevent harm and enable swift rescue in cases of loneliness, disappearance, abduction, or mobility issues.
One of the key features of 국민안심서비스 is that it operates solely on mobile phones without the need for a separate server. It does not collect any personal information, ensuring that anyone can use it without the risk of privacy breaches. However, it is important to note that the app will not function if the phone is turned off, so users are advised to regularly check and charge their mobile phone batteries.
This app is not limited to residents of 합천군 (Gyeongsangnam-do). It is a nationwide service that can be installed and used by individuals outside of 합천군 as well. Recently, the app has undergone a name change from 합천안심서비스 to 경남안심서비스, and now to 국민안심서비스.
